The end is nigh...!

It's our last full day in New Zealand, and once again I've made it to a PC before Louise and Jordana. Firstly, thanks to our commenters. Karen V and Rosalind are battling it out for the top commenter spot I think! Ann, glad you got the key back. Sorry for running off with it!

I'm in an internet place in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. We came over on the Interislander Ferry from Picton yesterday. 3 hours or so on the boat, followed by a hair raising drive round central Wellington at rush hour, trying to find our hotel. After weeks of empty roads and easy driving, Jordana did very well to navigate the mean streets of Wellington!
Went out for a pizza/pasta at a place called Hell, which Lou was keen to go to just for the name! However, the bar - Syn - was very friendly and we stayed for a few drinks. There was a pub quiz going on which I enjoyed a lot, but got a bit stumped on the NZ round. No idea of the All Blacks shirt sponsor or the distance around Lake Taupo!
Today I was keen to see the National Museum Te Papa, while Jordana and Louise were going to the Botanic Gardens I think. We're meeting up back at the hotel soon to go out for dinner. So tomorrow, it's up bright and early to take back our rental car that Jordana has nicknamed Nancy Nissan (it's a Nissan Wingroad). It's done us good service for the past 15 days. Then it's pretty much 24 hours non stop travelling before we reach Las Vegas. Due to crossing the international date line along the way, we leave Wellington at 1215 on 19th August, and arrive in Las Vegas at 1615 on the 19th. A simple 4 hour flight?? We wish...!
Added a couple of new photos to the album - both labelled Kaikoura. One of a seal lazing in the car park, and one of the three of us. This time next week we'll be home. While we're having a great time, we're all looking forward to coming home too. See you soon...

The Photo Album

Comments:
Enjoyed looking through the photos - nice to see Erin wearing the Good Shepherd hat! The weather looks not unlike Cornwall at the moment! You all still look as if you're enjoying yourselves despite the cold. Hope it's a little warmer when you hit Las Vegas! Safe journey. Love Sue C.

Enjoyed reading your latest update.Hope Lou made a safe return from trip to 'Hell' ( auntie Ann needs to keep up the prayers!). JJ I'm very impressed with navigating skills maybe we will make it to netball matches this year without map book! It's obviously Bell Green locals wandering out into the road that causes the problems!. Cathy only you could go so far and find yourself a pub quiz. The photo of the seal is really cute although I must say it looks as if it's been on one of Lou and JJ's nights out. Safe journey to vegas and hope the next report is to say you've won the jackpot! x

Nice pictures!
Sure wish I had the time and money to fly to Vegas and meet up with you all.
Sure you don't wanna hop an airbus to Frisco for a day or two??

Just about caught up with all your travel news... sounds like you're having a fab time, photos are brilliant !! Am I jealous that I'm not there ... of course not (yeah right!). See you in a week or so for Birthday celebrations ... since you weren't here for mine, we'll have a few for that too.. oh, we went to the new Casino at the Ricoh for my Birthday.. I came out £100 up ... hope you strike it large in Vegas !!

Take Care All
